The Land Mullet is frequently encountered in mountainous areas from Gosford NSW to South Eastern Queensland. These large skinks are diurnal, and feed on small invertebrates, berries, and other small fruits and flowers that can be found on the forest floor. In Australia the ‘Land Mullet’ is considered to be our largest skink species to date. Land Mullets are live bearing, and following each breeding season pregnant females give birth to 4-8 live young.
